Opened since 1947, their legendary number 19 sandwich is a crowd-pleasing favorite, with hand-sliced pastrami, swiss cheese, Russian dressing and coleslaw served between two plush slices of rye bread, it’s a massive sandwich that can easily be shared between two people. Don’t sleep on the corned beef or any of the other classic deli plates either, because they’re excellent. And that lunch crowd has an unbeatable, classic ambiance.

We are thrilled to be included in LAWeekly’s new article “Best French Fries in LA” – thank you!

This choice may seem odd at first glance, but here’s the thing: Langer’s serves the same fries as Shake Shack. Perhaps the two restaurants use a different vendor, but they’re both serving previously frozen crinkle cuts from a bag. But at Langer’s, they can be used as a base for chili and cheese. That’s more L.A. than the new shiny guys will ever be.
