Omnivorous: Langer’s Deli

 In News

Food blog Omnivorous by Spencer H. Gray recently did a piece on visit to Langer’s Delicatessen-Restaurant, and it’s terrific:

Langer’s pastrami is moist, flavorful, and ultra-tender. Great flavor from the corning brine add notes of coriander and peppercorn. In a sandwich the pastrami is rather thickly cut but so yielding you never get any gristly bits or dry areas; it is uniformly delicious. To best appreciate the pastrami’s flavor I’d recommend it simple, just on their wonderful rye bread with a slather of deli mustard. However, the best sandwich I’ve eaten there is the Number 19, a delightful concoction of their homemade pastrami, swiss cheese, coleslaw, and Russian dressing. The steamed rye bread is moist and delicious with a crisp crust, the coleslaw adds sweetness and a vegetable crunch, and the generous Russian dressing adds a nice tang that counterbalances the fatty richness of that fabulous pastrami. It is the bomb!

There’s even coverage of our side salad! It’s worth a read, and the pictures are terrific (taken with an iPhone, no less).

Thank you, Spencer! Click here to read the complete story at Omnivorous.
